Plan for the Community
The Coronavirus pandemic led us into a state of emergency, uncertainty and despair but AHHA is here to support communities through it all to regain a mental, emotional and physical state of wellness. This current pandemic has affected us in innumerable ways. Underrepresented communities with a great population of residents who are African American, indigenous persons, people of color, and workers with low wages were impacted most.
AHHA believes in serving our dedicated community members. In our neighborhoods, we have households filled with families who are frontline, essential workers who are still tirelessly laboring to ensure our economy and livelihoods are maintained. Security and law enforcement professionals, sanitation workers, grocery store clerks, farmers, delivery drivers, emergency service providers and other countless professionals are the glue that is getting us through this pandemic. But many of our households have been stricken with unemployment and/or decreased incomes that also adds enormous stress filled mental, emotional and substance abuse in our community.
So, our Pandemic Stress Relief Plan provides mental, emotional wellness support to low income families in communities affected by COVID-19.
