Drama Therapy Specialist

Nevaina is as unique and gifted as her name, Nevaina (Nih-von-yah). She has empowered thousands of women and youth nationally and internationally.

With more than 15 years of experience as a drama therapy specialist, she has worked with divorced and transitioning professionals, adjudicated and at-risk youth, abuse survivors, doctors, lawyers, teachers and more helping them to gain clarity and confidence.

For twelve years she worked with The Academy Theatre, the region's forerunner in educational theater. Nevaina worked with and performed for students grades K-12 serving more than a half a million young people during her time with The Academy.

She served as a Communications Specialist with the Emory School of Law Training Program for four years and has worked with the NFLPA for the past three years as a featured presenter. Nevaina has recently been featured in many national ad campaigns, movies and television shows such as Greenleaf, Black Lighting, and The Oval.

Nevaina is a published author.  It was her role as the award-winning lady in Green in the stage play “For Colored Girls…” directed by Jasmine Guy that inspired her to write the women's wellness workbook, The Color of Inspiration and the soul-stirring memoir “Conversations with Colored Girls” in which she tells of her play experience with Jasmine, Nicole Ari Parker and Robin Givens.

With a degree in broadcast journalism from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill, Nevaina has magnetic eloquence and charisma. She is called to be a STAR…Speak Teach Act Reach many through the art of drama. 

Nevaina uses her experience and insight to be  a Drama Coach who builds the character and the actor at the same time. Her innovative RAW  approach makes her  not only a dynamic acting coach but also a  highly effective life coach.  Her life-coaching skills have been seen on The Braxtons, Mom-prenuers and more. Some of her acting students have been seen in projects like David Makes Man, The Quad, Just Mercy, Legacies and many more. 

Whether in front of the camera herself or coaching talent to be camera ready, Nevaina adds unique value and is a proven project  asset.
